Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Prof Dr Muhammad Al-freed Zafar said that modern medical science and research remains a big challenge for young doctors. He added that research, educational activities and book knowledge are imperative to becoming highly-skilled doctors, as is the development of a solid work ethic.
These views were expressed by Prof Al-freed Zafar during a 2-day course on the guidelines for FCPS, MCP, DGO and gynecologists students' exam preparation, under the supervision of Prof Dr Nudrat Sohail in Gynecology Unit 3, Lahore General Hospital.
Addressing the concluding session, in which doctors in the field of Gynecology participated, while Prof Dr Muhammad Tayyab and Prof Dr Shehla Baqai delivered lectures about the guidance and technical issues regarding their examinations. Prof. Asma Gul, Prof Faiqa Saleem, Dr Misbah Javed, Dr Laila Shafiq and Dr Shumaila also attended the Gynecology training course.
Prof Al-freed expressed that the pursuit of medical education requires unwavering determination and tireless hard work, further adding that awareness of pregnant women’s health, problems during maternity, as well as their solution, is the most important responsibility of a gynecologist.
He asserted that doctors should consider their duty as their religious obligation and deal with the above mentioned problems with more determination and zeal during medical education.
Prof Al-freed Zafar stated that gynecologists play a very important role in preventing pregnant women falling prey to various complications and lack of awareness during pregnancy.
In this regard, Zafar directed gynecologists to use their expertise in their field to reduce mortality rates care for their patients effectively. The PGMI principal urged doctors to show the utmost patience while solving papers in the examination centers and to stay in the center for the stipulated time, picking all the questions with full confidence to score maximum marks.
