The Zever-e-Taleem Programme in Bhakkar is a practical example of the people-friendly policies of the Punjab government.
Under the programme 103 children have been enrolled in schools, and they will be provided with free education.
The programme caters to the children of those people who live in the remote areas.
A ceremony was held at the MC’s office of Tehsil Mankira. It was attended among others by the Commissioner of Sargodha Division, Maryam Khan, and the Deputy Commissioner of Bhakkar, Khurram Shehzad. Commissioner Maryam Khan, while addressing the ceremony, said, “It is our primary duty to educate those children who cannot go to school for one reason or the other.”
In this regard, 15 deserving children from Mankira Tehsil were admitted to the Zevar-e-Taleem Programme on Friday.
They will be provided with free uniforms, books and bags. They will also be given stipends with the support from the philanthropists.
The commissioner said that welfare programmes of the Punjab government were a matter of pride for everyone. The commissioner also had a conversation with the parents of the children and informed them about the importance of education and urged them to send their children to school.
