Ten robbers sack house of ex-MQM leader
The house of a former leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement was robbed in Orangi Town creating an uproar in local residents against the failure of the police to control crime.
At least 10 suspects riding a mini-pickup and motorcycles came rolling in front of Waseem Commando's house at dawn on Sunday.
The alleged robbers tied up Waseem and his two brothers, Nasir and Aamir, and their families with ropes and robbed the house at ease.
Holding the family hostage at gunpoint, the robbers took away Rs5 million in cash, gold jewellery, nine iPhones, Wasim Commando's daughter's laptop, and other valuables. As per Waseem, the robbers stayed for over 2.5 hours and escapes easily.
SHO Orangi Town Chaudhry Liaquat Hussain, who was only recently appointed, reached the location with the police force after receiving information about the incident.
He examined the victim's house, took the statements, and left after the inspection.
Locals have demanded that the Additional IG Karachi and the DIG West appoint a police officer as the SHO in Orangi Town who will take decisive action to eliminate the criminal elements.
