The K-Electric (KE) has again started suspending the power supply to the mausoleum of the founder of nation.
On Wednesday night, floodlights installed at the Mazar-e-Quaid went off due to power outage and the national icon plunged into darkness. Following news aired on Express News and published in The Express Tribune, the power utility had stopped load-shedding at Mazar-e-Quaid for the last two days.
It should be noted that Mazar-e-Quaid has enjoyed complete exemption from load shedding in the past.
The KE spokesperson said that power supply is continuing at Mazar-e-Quaid. Being an exempted area it is subjected to three hour power outage as per the load-shedding schedule announced on June 30.
According to the spokesperson, load shedding period is three hours in exempted areas and maximum 10 hours in non-exempted areas. However, steps are being taken to provide maximum relief to consumers.
