Prime minister meets delegation of Finland companies

ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with a delegation of companies from Finland, led by Finland Consul General Wille Eerola, to discuss ways of cooperation in economy and trade.

Talking to members of the delegation, the prime minister said that Finland and Pakistan had friendly relations and both countries were deeply interested in promoting cooperation in trade, investment and energy.

The prime minister underscored that a suitable environment existed in Pakistan for foreign investment and “our government believes in timely completion of all projects”.

“Transparency is ensured during the completion of projects,” said the premier.

He highlighted that best opportunities existed for investment in different sectors of Pakistan’s economy including energy, information technology, food processing and livestock.

The delegation of Finland companies expressed interest in investment in different sub-sectors of energy, especially solar energy, wind energy, biogas, food processing and agriculture.

Representatives of Finland-Pakistan Business Council and Finland companies including Biowoima, GA and Metro, Valmet Technologies, Wartsila Corporation and TPL Corporation attended the meeting.

Federal Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail, Federal Minister for Energy Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Minister of State Musadiq Malik, and Ambassador of Finland to Pakistan Hanny Ripatti were also present in the meeting.
