The Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Qaddus Bizinjo has said that women and children remained the worst sufferers of recent monsoon rains and subsequent flash floods in the province.
He added that thousands of women are pregnant and the health department has been providing the required medicines and support to the women.
He urged the international community to play its role in the rehabilitation of the affected people. “The damage is beyond the capacity of the provincial government”, he said. CM maintained that Pakistan’s contribution regarding the gas emissions warming the planet was less than one per cent. Despite this all, the damages inflicted by climate change were disastrous and huge, he said.
He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his all support for the rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
He expressed these views while talking to UN Secretary General and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Osta Muhammad.
The UN SG arrived in Osta Muhammad and met flood affected people.
“Floods completely destroyed infrastructure of Balochistan”, Bizenjo said.
