A sewing training center was inaugurated at District Jail Abbottabad to make prisoners to make them productive and skilled.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent Jail Hamid Khan, who inaugurated the training center, said that they were providing skill development opportunities to the inmates as a top priority in order to make them useful citizens of society after completion of their punishment.
"For the course registration with NAVTEC we have applied and the process has been started, before the official start of the center we have launched the training of inmates by using our own resources and will be able to impart training of 20 inmates in the jail," he said. The training will help them to get employment easily after release from prison, he added.
Khan disclosed that many other skilled development projects are in pipeline that would be materialized after some time and we would start providing training to the inmates in various categories.
Meanwhile, supplies of relief goods and essential items to the flood affected families need to be ensured as soon as possible, said Deputy Commissioner Tariq Salam Marwat on Friday.
All revenue officers should also ensure the assessment of flood and rain-affected areas to provide relief to the affected families in time, he added.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of revenue officers regarding the district revenue review committee meeting. The DC directed to complete the computerization of land records at earliest and ensure all possible facilities to citizens.
The resolution of revenue court cases of six months or earlier should be completed immediately, forest magistrates should ensure the implementation of forest recovery cases and action should be taken against the concerned persons, he said.
The meeting was attended by the ADC Abbottabad Jibrail Raza, Deputy Director Database Computerization of Land Records, AAC Lubna Iqbal, ADC Ali Sher, Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Abbottabad, Havelian, Lower Tanawal, Lora, Sub Registrar Abbottabad, Havelian and other revenue staff.
