Ushna Shah may be a well-known face on the screen, but behind the scenes, she is just like every Pakistani – rooting for the Men in Green in high-intensity cricket matches.
The recent Pakistan versus Indian match in this year’s Asia Cup was no different, as the nail-biter victory saw the Habs actor tweet in praise of the Pakistan men’s cricket team. “What a beautiful team we have! Love our boys in green. Rizwan bro, you king! Mashallah, what a match. Well played India,” the tweet read.

The Parizaad actor also reposted a post on her Instagram story in praise of Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam's father, commending him for his parenting. Alongside the repost, Ushna added a sweet note, “When such fathers raise sons and they become captains, the team wins.”
The post, by a local magazine, shows a comment by a dedicated Babar fan under a post by Babar’s father, Azam Siddique. The comment reads, “Assalamualaikum, uncle. I am a huge fan of Babar. Even my bike’s number plate is 56, and the number is printed on my shirts, too. I just want to meet Babar once. Please, help me meet him”
“Whenever Babar is in Pakistan, you can come and meet him any time. Babar is the ordinary son of an ordinary father,” Babar’s father modestly responded.
His humble response to the comment has won over cricket lovers from across the country, with many praising the kindness with which he has raised his son, Babar.
Pakistan men's cricket team is playing exciting cricket under the brilliant captaincy of Babar across formats. Babar, 27, is leading the side brilliantly and the young boys are responding well to the captain in all three departments. Babar has bagged multiple individual records as well as team records. The side has managed to beat India twice under his leadership.
In the 2021 T20 World Cup, the team bagged a ten-wicket win while claiming a thriller yesterday in the Super Four Round of Asia Cup. Both wins have come at the Dubai International Stadium.
The number 1 ranked T20I and ODI batter is now the first-ever Pakistan captain to defeat India twice in multi-national T20 tournaments. No other Pakistani captain has achieved this feat, resulting in Babar receiving a lot of praise and well-wishers for his skill and captaincy.
