After losing a thrilling first match against India, Pakistan bagged a big win on Sunday night in a nail-biting face-off against the arch-rivals in Dubai. With almost 25,000 spectators in attendance and millions more glued to their television screens at home, the green shirts won the second match with one ball and five wickets to spare.

The action-packed match kept everyone at the edge of their seats. Twitterati, specifically, had a field day as many shared their thoughts throughout the match. The likes of Asim Azhar, Nabeel Qureshi, Shaan Shahid joined other tweeps and lauded Pakistan over the blazing win.

Azhar shared, "What a game of cricket by our young team. Brilliant comeback by our bowlers after India got off to a flyer. And what a chase by Rizwan, Nawaz and co. Chasing 180+ is always a challenge in such a high-pressure game no matter what the pitch is like. Pakistan Zindabad!"

The Habibi singer, in another tweet, shared, "This is the new era of Pakistan Cricket. Highest successful run chase against India in T20s. Fearless and calculated! That's why it's said, ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.' Do not be disrespectful but enjoy the victory!"

Lauding Waseem Akram for his brilliant responses in the commentator's box, filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi shared, "We won! What a game! Brilliant, brilliant by Rizwan, Nawaz and Asif Ali in the end too! And Wasim Akram Bhai, your commentary, in the end, was superb. You responded sternly to your fellow commentators." The Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad director then shared several tweets from Pakistani cricketers.

Humayun Saeed penned, "What a chase! What a match! Well done Pakistan team especially Mohammad Rizwan and Nawaz for your glorious performances. Outstanding! Pakistan Zindabad!"

Adnan Siddiqui added on, "Congratulations, felicitations, Pakistan! Perfect nail-biting finish. Rizwan and Nawaz - fire and ice of the team, you guys deftly and powerfully carried the match on their tough shoulders. Atta boys!"

Ushna Shah tweeted, "What a beautiful team we have! Love our boys in green. Rizwan bro, you King! Mashallah. What a match. Well played, India."

Armeena Rana Khan commented how cricket should be seen for what it is: a sport. "Repeat after me: Cricket is not equivalent to winning wars, it is just a GAME/SPORT so please take it as such. Disclaimer: I don’t condone wars nor violence."

Hasan Raheem, like many of us, went through the same turmoil of unsettling emotions and penned, "What a team. Captain Babar Azam changing the batting order is as sweet as it can get."

Kubra Khan congratulated team Pakistan and tweeted, "My legs were literally shivering but Mohammad Rizwan, what a bloody champ you are! Pakistan team… take a bow. You are absolute gems. Pakistan Zindabad! *Goes back to dancing around*"

Fakhre Alam, who was present at the Dubai Cricket Stadium, while sharing a video in which Dil Dil Pakistan blasted the speakers after Pakistan won the match, wrote, "What a fantastic game of cricket. It doesn’t get better than this. Pakistan vs India and what a game. Only in Dubai can you see this crowd mix and what a performance by the boys in green. Love you, team Pakistan."

Samina Peerzada shared, "Finally good news! Thank God. Even though it is cricket. Well done, team Pakistan!"

Saba Qamar remarked, "Congratulations team Green! What a wonderful match! Rizwan and Nawaz!" She also requested fans to not forget the flood victims in their time of need. "Let's all not forget our flood victims and help them as much as we can, keeping them in your prayers also matters a lot."

Sharing Nawaz's picture, Mansha Pasha took a jibe at the PMLN Supremo Nawaz Sharif and wrote, "No one says a word to this Nawaz!"

Faysal Quraishi, too, joined the rest of us in congratulating the cricket team. "Outstanding win, team Pakistan!"

An ecstatic Mawra Hocane tweeted, "Bismillah. Wishing for everything prosperous and more for my green, my Pakistan. P.S re-using an outfit from 5 years ago because it’s green."

The Arshdeep debacle

In the first ten overs of Pakistan's chase, India seemingly had the match in the bag. But it was Nawaz and Rizwan's brilliant spell and Arshdeep dropping a crucial catch, which many shared was the moment India lost. Feroze Khan joked, "Sardar Ji is playing from our side." Fahad Mustafa, too, shared similar thoughts. Sharing the young bowler's picture, the Jeeto Pakistan host shared, "May Allah keep you happy. My man of the match."

Arshdeep became a target for racist trolls, with many Indian fans calling him out as Pasha and Indian star Swara Bhaskar came to the bowler's defence. "Arshdeep is not gonna have an easy week! Abusing players is [terrible]! Take it, easy folks!"

Bhaskar tweeted, "We love you and we are proud of you, Arshdeep Singh! Stand strong!"

Highest successful chase

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul began in fifth gear, blasting boundaries at will and giving India a rousing start on a flat wicket in Dubai. The skipper began with a four and a six off Naseem Shah in the first over, while Rahul helped himself to two sixes in the third over. Three of the four overs at the beginning went for over 10 runs as India made no effort to hide their evident intent.

The 19-run over swung the momentum Pakistan's way, but Arshdeep, guilty of dropping the sitter in the 19th over, bowled a brilliant final over, executing his yorkers well. He sent back Asif Ali with a sharp yorker off the fourth ball to bring the equation to two runs needed off two balls, but Iftikhar Ahmed held his nerve to loft a low full toss down the ground for a couple off the fifth ball in the final over to seal a tense, yet brilliant win for Pakistan.

It was Pakistan's highest successful run chase against India in T20Is. The victory also meant India succumbed to their first defeat in this format in the Asia Cup.
