2kgs of gold missing from DHA bank locker

KARACHI:

A citizen, Anwar Ullah, told the Darakhshan police on Wednesday that he came to check his locker at a bank branch located on the Khayabane Shahbaz in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) after two years.

To his shock gold ornaments weighing at least two kilogrammes were missing. Dazed from the loss, Anwar immediately reported the incident to the bank staff and the police.

The citizen told the police that he had kept gold ornaments in his bank's locker, in which some ornaments were his property and some belonged to his relatives.

According to the current market rate, its value is more than Rs24 million. He told the police that his sister and other relatives had kept their gold in his locker, and he had not used the vault since 2020.

The police said that they had also recorded the bank staff's statements in this regard. A complaint has been filed on behalf of the victim, while the police have also obtained fingerprints from the crime scene, and in light of this, the police are conducting further investigations.
