The Karachi police on Sunday claimed to have arrested as many as 832 suspects during a drive against criminals from different parts of the city
last week.
According to a Karachi police official, about 16 accused were arrested in 10 encounters during which an accused was killed while 11 were arrested in injured condition.
Police recovered 18 illegal weapons, six motorcycles, and 10 mobile phones from the arrested accused.
Meanwhile, during the drive against drug peddlers in the city, the police seized 32.9 kilogrammes of hashish, 1.4 kilogrammes of heroin, and 2.76 kilogrammes of methamphetamine ice drugs.
As per the Karachi police spokesperson, police seized about 119 illegal guns from suspected street criminals. These weapons were used in looting citizens, he said. As many as 88 stolen motorcycles were taken into custody from different areas.
