Jamaat-e-Islami workers as well as people belonging to all walks of life, assembled outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Karachi office on Friday to record their protest against the commission over another controversial delay in the local government elections in the city.
Protestors, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the ECP and demanded of the commission to hold the elections immediately. The JI also announced a 10-day deadline for the ECP to announce date of the local government polls in Sindh, failing to which the ECP would be facing a decisive sit-in on the patter of the JI's 29-day sit-in outside the Sindh Assembly building for the rights of Karachiites.
