PHA official says stolen lights being installed again

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has started work on the beautification of the Committee Chowk underpass on Murree Road.

As part of the beautification project, stolen lights are also being installed on the walls. Heavy lights worth Rs2 million installed at the Committee Chowk underpass had been stolen by unidentified persons along with the electric wiring. The PHA had registered a case at the Waris Khan police station against unknown persons.

The embellishment lights were installed at the Committee Chowk underpass under the urban beautification project. Police have registered a case under section 379 against unknown persons, however, no arrest could be made in this regard.

PHA Chairman Asif Mehmood said that beautification work will also be carried out at 55 parks, Murree Road, Rawal Road and Airport Road. He said that the beautification of 100 metro station pillars will also be done and electronic LED billboards will be installed on every road. He said it aims to increase revenue and improve security.
