Armed men on a motorcycle shot and killed a Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf activist named Majid Sati on Sixth Road within the limits of Sadiqabad Police Station on Tuesday.
Police said that the motorcyclists opened fire as soon as he came out of his business place on Sixth Road.
CPO Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari has taken serious notice of the incident and directed the immediate arrest of the suspects. According to the police, Majid Sati was shot in the leg. However, he died on the way to the hospital due to excessive bleeding. The body was first taken to Benazir Hospital and later shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
Former MNA of PTI Sheikh Rashid Shafiq while talking to The Express Tribune said the deceased had no enmity with anyone.
SSP Operations Waseem Riaz reached the scene of the incident and said that help was being taken from the footage of CCTV cameras to trace the suspects.
Khan said that all the evidence have been collected from the crime scene. The deceased's native place is Kotli Sattian, while his current residence was in Shukrial.
