Murder victim’s family stages sit-in for justice

Ali Muhammad was shot dead during altercation in North Nazimabad

The family and neighbours of the victim, who was shot dead during a dispute in North Nazimabad, held a protest.

During the demonstration, the family members of the deceased demanded the immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the murder.

On Saturday night, Yusuf Haji's son, Haji Ali Muhammad, 35, was shot and killed during an altercation near Rehmania Masjid, Niaz Manzil area of Block-L in North Nazimabad within the limits of Taimuira Police Station. Yesterday, the deceased's family protested against the incident and the victim's body near Pakistan Medical and Dental College in Block-L, North Nazimabad. The protestors demanded the immediate arrest of the suspected murderers. A large number of residents participated in the protest.

Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and assured the deceased's family that the police would arrest the suspects soon. At this, the deceased's family members ended their protest and dispersed peacefully.

In this regard, SHO Taimuria Rasheed Lodhi said that the police have registered case crime No. 877 of 2022 for Yusuf Haji's murder under sections 147, 148 and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deceased's brother, Muhammad Siddique.
