Pakistan Army is at the forefront of the fight against terrorism. Over the years, thousands of troops and officers of the armed forces have made the supreme sacrifice. Here is the profile of two such valiant soldiers. 

Sepoy Salman Shaheed

Sepoy Salman was born on January 26, 1997, to Fazle Rabi in Bacha village of Swabi district. He obtained his matriculation from Bacha Government High School and his diploma in commerce from Government College of Management Sciences, Swabi.

During his college years, Salman won cricket trophies several times in the finals. After his training at the Armoured Corps Center, he joined the 18th Horse, based in Multan Cantt.

He served with the 4th Cavalry in South Waziristan. Due to his professionalism, Sepoy Salman was sent to the 4th Cavalry where he was martyred on September 14, 2021, while repelling a terrorist attack and maintaining control of the area.

Major Ahmar Raza Shaheed

Major Ahmar Raza was born in Quetta on March 23, 1971. He passed matriculation examination with first division and attained distinction at FG College Quetta. He simultaneously applied to an engineering university as well as the PMA Long Course.

He gave up his admission seat at the engineering university and joined the 86th PMA Long Course. After successfully completing two years of training at PMA, he was commissioned in prestigious infantry battalions like the 9th Azad Kashmir Regiment.

From second lieutenant to his mid-career course, he rose to the top of his regiment for his expertise. Later, due to his academic dedication, he took a Basic Engineering Staff Course from NUST. He displayed valour while posted as a major on the Line of Control (LoC) with the Punjab Rangers.

He also served during a UN peacekeeping mission in Ivory Coast with the 42nd Baloch Regiment and achieved the status of martyrdom in Ghana. He was a great son, husband and loving father.
