Her contribution to music, especially in revolutionising ghazals, will forever be a soulful treasure for artists and fans alike.

After Noor’s death was confirmed by her family, tributes started pouring in on the internet. From vowing to play her songs on repeat throughout the night to praying for her eternal peace and remembering how her voice impacted their lives, social media users paid homage to the Ruthe Ho Tum singer.

However, the loss felt deeper for those who knew her and interacted with her work more personally. The media fraternity took to social media to remember Noor in high regard with countless prayers and appreciation for the playback singer. From actors, Sajal Aly and Bushra Ansari to musicians from Pakistan and beyond Adnan Sami, Quratulain Baloch, Meesha Shafi and Shehzad Roy, celebrities, artists and public figures all dedicated their feeds to Noor’s ever-fruitful legacy.

Singer Quratulain Baloch shared that the “true privilege” she’s had in her life was to share the same space as the singer and have meaningful conversations with her.

“The true privilege I have had in my life was to have been given the opportunity to sit with Nayyara Noor Jee and have conversations that were deep and meaningful and not of this world. The voice that gave life to poetry. The voice that’ll be forever,” she wrote on Twitter.

Singer Ali Zafar also added that he to date remembers their last meeting at Noor’s house which was filled with “serene, spiritual wisdom."

He tweeted, “I remember our last meeting and discussion at her place. She had moved beyond worldly desires onto a serene and spiritual space with so much wisdom. She was our nightingale. May her soul rest in peace."
