Two officials fired, handed over to railways police

Pakistan Railways has taken back the control of Tezgam Express from the private sector after the train management defaulted on payments.

According to Express News, Pakistan Railways laid off all the private employees of Tezgam while closing the booking counter and taken over the management of the train.

Earlier, a private firm engaged in commercial operation of the Tezgam Express had removed its two officials from service and handed them over to railways police for allegedly organising a dance of a transgender person in the train’s dining car during journey near Karachi.

According to a spokesman for the Pakistan Railways, the company had also released a video message stating that the train manager and dining car manager were handed over to railways police for probe with a pledge to further cooperate with the department by removing more officials if found guilty.

A very good decision. Railways must ensure in giving trains to private sector that they will improve it s operational services and would not indulge in such indecent innovations. Further the Railways authorities must ensure that the private companies must give concession to senior citizen.
