KARACHI:

The gas supply to several parts of Balochistan was cut off after the gushing floodwater washed away a dispatch main line in Bolan, reported Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Friday.

“A 24-inch diameter gas pipeline was swept away by high floodwater relay at Bolan Bibi Nani. Subsequent, gas supply to Quetta, Mastung, Kalat, Pishin and other areas has been suspended,” the SSGC said in a statement, adding that teams had been rushed to Bolan for the restoration work.

The statement further said that since there were no telecommunication signals available in Bolan, the updates on developmental works would take some time. “We shall share them with media as soon as we get it.”

It added that efforts were afoot to restore supplies through alternate pipeline system.
