In a video that went viral on social media on Friday, two hostages were tortured by dacoits who had kidnapped them and demanded a ransom of Rs 4.5 million from their families.

Using women's voices, the dacoits 'honeytrapped' their victims and held them in chains. They then forced the victims to beg their families to pay the ransom money and secure their release.

Under torture, the hostages agreed to pay the amounts.

The incident took place after Senior Superintendent of Police Ghotki Tanveer Tunio announced an operation against the dacoits in the area. Sources in the police claimed that a gang of dacoits operating inside the riverine area (Katcha area) adjacent to Raunti and Adam Jo Mindo have taken a few people hostage.
