Three travel agents held for extorting money from citizens

FIA recovers citizens' passports and ID cards

RAWALPINDI:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) anti-human trafficking cell has arrested three travel agents for their alleged involvement in swindling citizens, promising to send them abroad.

FIA sources said that the travel agents were taking money from gullible citizens and promising them visas for foreign countries.

The FIA carried out a raid in Rawalpindi and arrested three travel agents identified as Kashif Naeem, Raja Rashid and Zohaib Alam and recovered passports and identity cards from their possession.

FIA officials said that the accused were involved in extorting millions of rupees from innocent citizens on the pretext of arranging them foreign visas. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, Rwalpindi district police arrested six gamblers and recovered Rs23,000 stake money, 10 mobile phones and valuables from their possession on Thursday. A police spokesman said that Wah Cantt police conducted a raid and arrested six gamblers named Numan, Shaheen, Waqas, Naveed, Hamza and Waqas Majeed. A case has been registered against them.
