Security forces kill two terrorists in wake of DI Khan IED attack

Security forces on Wednesday killed two terrorists during a shootout in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan district, the military said in a statement.

"On 10 August, an IED exploded on a police vehicle in general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan district. Army's quick reaction force immediately reached and cordoned the incident site," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

It added that a fire exchange took place with terrorists which resulted in the killing of two terrorists. "Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists," it added.

The ISPR further said that the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.

.On Thursday, a sepoy of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Miran Shah, North Waziristan.

"Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in general area Miran Shah, North Waziristan district, on the reported presence of terrorists," the ISPR in a statement.

During intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Ansar Ali (age 30 years, resident of Narowal), having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat, it added.

The military's media wing further said that the troops executed a successful operation and killed a terrorist and added that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.

On July 23, the security forces apprehended a high-profile terrorist commander and killed three others in two separate IBOs in different areas of K-P’s North Waziristan district.
