The Sharea Faisal police have arrested a security guard of a residential project after a video that shows him beating a pregnant woman brutally in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 17, went viral.

Taking notice of the footage of the incident the police registered case No. 745 of 2022 under sections 504, 337A(i) and 354 of the Pakistan Penal Code against the security guard on the complaint of the victim, Sana.

According to the contents of the case, the victim in her statement to the police stated that she is a resident of Abdullah Goth in Bin Qasim Town and works as a housemaid in an apartment in Nauman Grand City, a residential project located in Block-17 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

On August 5, her son Sohail brought food for her at the apartment complex where the project’s union officials including Abdul Nasir, Adil Khan, Mahmood Khalil and others were present and they did not allow her son to enter the apartment complex.

When she reached the main gate of the residential project to enquire about her son, a union official, uttered bad words and asked the security guard Dawood to beat her up.

At this, the security guard slapped her as a result she fell on the ground and the guard continued kicking her. The woman informed the police that she was five to six months pregnant.

The torture caused her pain and she became unconscious and was shifted to the hospital. Therefore, legal action should be taken against all those involved in the incident.

According to area people, torturing people at the said apartment is a routine. The residents of the apartment are very scared of the union officials.

Several flats on the upper floors of the apartment have been allegedly occupied by them.

Police are conducting raids to arrest the other suspects.
