Over 370 new Covid cases reported

Citizens urged to adhere to SOPs to avoid contracting virus

As many as 373 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

According to the data shared by a spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the cumulative number of coronavirus cases in the province has now reached 516,040.

The death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic is 13,590, while 498,546 patients tested positive for the virus have recovered across the province.

The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department confirmed that 254 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, 16 in Rawalpindi, 16 in Faisalabad, 23 in Multan, one in Kasur, nine in Bahawalpur, two in Gujranwala, eight in Hafizabad, one in Bhakkar, three in Bahawalnagar and one in Sheikhupura.

Meanwhile, five fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in Sialkot, five in Toba Tek Singh, one in Sahiwal, five in Jhang, two in Mianwali, two in Dera Ghazi Khan, one in Jhelum, 11 in Sargodha, one in Okara and one in Rahim Yar Khan district.

The provincial health department has so far conducted 11,708,760 tests for Covid-19.

The department urged the public to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) formulated by the government for their protection and wear face masks.

The people were also advised to wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from the virus.

Additionally, citizens above the age of 12 were urged to ensure that they were vaccinated.

The healthcare department advised the people to contact helpline number 1033 immediately upon noticing symptoms of coronavirus.

The government has also launched the fourth phase of the ‘Reach Every Door Vaccination’ campaign across the province to inoculate citizens at their homes.
