PTI to reveal next plan of action on 13th

Party to hold 'Haqeeqi Azadi March' in the capital on eve of Independence Day

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that he would announce his party’s next plan of action to deal with the “fascism” of the “Yazidi” government on August 13.

As Muslims commemorate the death of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson Imam Hussain (AS) in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD, former PM Imran – while recalling that that people of Kufa in Iraq had abandoned Imam Hussain (AS) in the battlefield out of fear – questioned if people would bow down before what he calls the US regime change conspiracy or challenge the same.

“The people of Kufa, despite knowing our beloved Prophet’s (PBUH) grandson was on the path of truth, did not come to help him out of fear of Yazid and allowed the greatest tragedy of Islam to happen,” the PTI chief tweeted.

“Every era has its Yazids,” the PTI chairman said. “Pakistan is facing Yazidiyat (fascism) today in the form of rule by a cabal of crooks and their handlers brought to power through US regime change conspiracy.”

Subsequently, Imran questioned: “Will our people bow down before this conspiracy in fear or, as a nation, face up to the challenge.

“On Aug 13 at our Haqeeqi Azadi jalsa, I will announce our plan to counter this fascism.”

Since his ouster back in April, Imran has upped the ante against the ruling coalition and has repeatedly alleged that the US through the incumbent rulers removed him from the office of the prime minister. His tweets on Sunday reiterated the same and have come after the PTI on Saturday decided to hold a rally in Islamabad on the eve of Independence Day which will continue into August 14.

Soon after his tweet, Pakistan Peoples Party General Secretary Farhatullah Babar replied: “Religion is best kept out of politics.” Babar urged him to join hands against different manifestations of Yazidiat.

In his tweet, the PPP stalwart reminded Imran that “the Yazidiat today is bombing of Hazaras whom you [Imran] called sometime back as blackmailers”.

In January 2021, Imran had called Hazara community’s mourners blackmailers, saying he would not be blackmailed into going to Quetta and would visit the mourners, including women and children, sitting along with the bodies of 11 labourers in extreme weather conditions near the Western Bypass area close to Hazara Town, only when they bury the dead.

“You cannot blackmail the prime minister of a country like this,” Imran had said while referring to a demand of the protesting Hazara community that he would visit them at the Quetta sit-in before they buried the 11 colliers massacred by terrorists.

“Militants bombing people [like PTI MPA Liaqat in Dir] for refusing bhatta is Yazidiat,” Babar stated in his tweet. “Let’s all join hands against these manifestations of Yazidiat.”

Often, the former PM has announced that he is waging "Jihad" against his opponents but since his Azadi March on May 25, he has started labelling his opponents as Yazids.

Imran while addressing the Azadi March rally in the capital had emphasised that he was waging Jihad against the government, saying the opponents were the followers of Yazid as, he said, they were the ones who ordered law enforcers to oppress protesters.

The analogy came as political analysts repeatedly warned that the use of the sectarian or religion card was extremely dangerous amid political volatility and should be avoided.
