KARACHI:

In the case of alleged abduction of an underage girl and early marriage, the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sharqi, in his verdict, has rejected the plaintiff's request to carry out the medical examination of the victim girl.

In the Karachi City Court, Additional District and Sessions Judge Sharqi, in his verdict quashed the plaintiff's application in which the plaintiff had sought permission from the court for the medical examination of the girl.

The petition was filed by the victim girl's father.

Earlier, the court of Judicial Magistrate Sharqi had also rejected the Investigation Officer's (IO) request to carry out a medical examination of the girl.

The court in its written order maintained that the investigation of the case is still going on, while final challan of the case has not been submitted yet.

The verdict also declared that a judicial magistrate has the power to accept or reject the challan of the case and the plea of the counsel for the petitioner bears no substance at the moment.

The order, rejecting the request for medical examination, will not affect the main case, the court order said.

It may be recalled that the case of abduction of the underage girl is registered in Al Falah police station.
