The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police arrested the suspect over his involvement in Saddar bomb blast. They recovered arms, ammunition and a laptop from his possession.
According to the CTD police, one person was killed, and seven people were injured as a result of Saddar bomb blast on May 12, 2022. Police have already arrested three suspects for their involvement in the incident. The arrested accused revealed that his accomplice Shiraz Ahmed had concealed explosives in the bicycle; CTD police had received the information on Saturday. The terrorist reached Karachi's Hub River Road area, and CTD police raided the area, arrested Shiraz, and recovered a laptop, ammunition, and weapons from his possession.
The arrested accused confessed his involvement in the Saddar bomb blast during the preliminary investigation, and he was affiliated with the banned organization. He escaped to Balochistan after the bomb blast and went in hiding. CTD suspects that the accused travelled to Karachi for sabotage. CTD received the information promptly about his arrival in Karachi and arrested him. The accused has also provided information about his other accomplices in the preliminary investigation, and police are conducting raids to nab them.
Meanwhile, the Bilal Colony police acting promptly on an information that two suspects belonging to a gang of criminals were roaming in the area to commit robbery, arrested M Ali and Faraz, and recovered two TT pistols from their possession.
According to the police, gold jewellery, 13 stolen mobile phones, prize bonds, and cash were also recovered from their house on their information. The accused have confessed throughout the inquiry that they belong to a gang of criminals and have robbed more than 50 houses over the period of one year.
Police are conducting raids to arrest the other members of the gang. The accused were arrested four times after police encounters in the past. They used to rob citizens in rickshaws, outside the banks and money changers.
