PESHAWAR:

Unidentified assailants on Saturday opened fire at the vehicle of PTI provincial assembly lawmaker Malik Ali Khan in Khyber-Paktunkwa’s district Lower Dir.

At least four people including a brother of the lawmaker, a Levies Force member and a girl were martyred in the attack, the police said.

MPA Malik Ali Khan suffered serious injuries in the attack and was shifted to hospital.

The firing incident took place near the house of the member of the provincial assembly, the official added.

K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan strongly condemned the incident and directed the top police officials to ensure the arrest of the culprits involved in the attack immediately.

He also prayed for the recovery of Malik Liaquat and other injured.

“The chief minister expresses his condolences on the martyrdom of the police and levy officials in the firing incident,” read the official statement.
