One of the two alleged terrorists who fired at a police blockade party at Dheri Graveyard on Kaki Road, injuring a constable, was shot dead while the other managed to escape.
According to the details, Naurang police station SHO Javed Khan along with the police party had set up a blockade on Kaki Road near Dheri Graveyard when two unidentified alleged terrorists on a motorcycle opened fire at the police party, injuring constable Mohibullah.
In retaliatory fire, police shot dead one of the two terrorists who was trying to escape.
As soon as the incident was reported, Lakki Marwat District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, along with a heavy contingent of police, immediately reached the spot and a search operation was carried out by encircling the area to arrest the second escaped terrorist.
The body of the alleged terrorist was taken to the hospital for post-mortem after the police seized the weapon and the motorcycle used in the incident.
Constable Mohibullah was shifted to the hospital for treatment where Lucky Marwat DPO Ahmed visited to inquire after the health of the injured.
“The Lakki Marwat police will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the sake of peace,” the DPO said.
Meanwhile, in separate crime-related incidents, five people were injured in robbery bids, over property dispute and personal enmity.
Yasir, son of Azam Khan, was shot and injured by unidentified suspects during an alleged robbery bid within the Shahpur police station limits.
Meanwhile, Sami, Shal, Yusuf and Akbar, sons of Rahim Khan and residents of Mathra, shot and injured Sohail Muhammad, son of Faqir Muhammad, a resident of Ferozepur, during a scuffle at the Mathra Kochian stop.
Asif Nawaz, Shahenshah and Farqan opened fire at their neighbour Nauman, son of Murad Khan, in Qamber Khel, injuring him.
Samiullah, son of Muhammad Gul, shot and injured his brother in Qazi Qilla within the limits of Faqirabad police station. He has been shifted to the hospital in critical condition.
Mohtaram Khan, son of Amanullah, was injured during firing over a field dispute within the limits of Dadzai police station. The police registered a case against Qaiser, Mohsin and Sher Ali.
In two other incidents, as many people were handed fake cheques worth Rs6.7 million in the Hayatabad police station remits.
Plaintiff Junaid Ali, son of Shaukat Ali, while filing a report, told the police that accused Muhammad Azam, son of Mumtaz, owed him money. On repeated demand, the accused handed him a cheque of Rs2.3 million. While cashing it in a private bank, the plaintiff found that there was no money in his account and the cheque was fake.
Meanwhile, the plaintiff Asif Khan, son of Nazeed Khan, while filing a report, told the Hayatabad police that accused Alamzeb, son of Rahim Gul, conducted business together involving heavy amounts of cash. After repeated requests, the plaintiff said the accused gave him a check of Rs4.4 million, which bounced when he went to cash it.
The police have registered a case against the accused of both the incidents and started the investigation.
