Long power shutdowns, stagnant rain water and overflowing sewage forced people in different parts of the city to take to the streets.
People staged protests against long power outages, bad sanitary conditions and stagnant rainwater in various localities of the metropolis.
Residents of Banaras Chowk, Pakistan Highway, Main University Road to Safoora Road, Gulistan Jauhar, Kamran Chowrangi, Hub River Road, Soldier Bazar No. 3 to Grumandir Highway and Bihar Colony also protested against non-drainage of sewage from streets.
Women and children also participated in the flash protests which were not motivated by any political party, rather a move by incensed community people.
The protestors said that there is sewage water in every street which is causing difficulties and posing serious health hazards.
It is difficult for children to go to schools and for grownups to office and work.
People have been protesting for over a months but no one is taking serious steps to solve these problems. Moreover, the administration is not taking the public seriously for draining the accumulated water, protestors claimed.
