FBISE announces SSC-I results

Overall result remains 69.44 per cent

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Friday announced the Secondary School Certificate (SSC-I) annual examination results with an overall pass percentage of 69.44 per cent.

According to the result, a total of 126,728 candidates including 117,218 regular and 9,510 private candidates appeared in the exam and of them, 87,999 candidates including 84,630 regular and 3,369 private candidates could pass the exam.

In the science group, a total of 103,991 regular students appeared in the exam and of them, 77,253 students could pass the exam. A total of 6,789 candidates appeared in the science group as private candidates and of them, 2,508 candidates could pass the exam.

In the humanities group, a total of 12,773 regular candidates appeared in the exam and of them, 7,239 passed the exam. In the humanities group, a total of 12,773 candidates appeared in the exam as private candidates and of them, 7,239 private candidates passed the exam.

In the tech/M tech, a total of 454 regular candidates appeared in the exam and of them, 138 candidates could pass the exam.

Addressing the ceremony, FBISE Chairman Qaiser Alam congratulated the institutions that have trained the teachers in the best way and made the learning achievement-based examination system a success. He said that FBISE is preparing a university programme to train teachers with the help of institutions and directorates to achieve the goal of quality education.

Earlier on Wednesday, the FBISE announced the result of the secondary school certificate-II annual examination, where the girl students outshone boys by bagging all top positions in both science and arts groups.

Interestingly, none of the educational institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Islamabad could make it to the top positions except for one institution which shared the third position in the humanities group.

In the science group, Maryam Khan from Army Public School and College for Girls, Rawalpindi got the first position with 1,096 marks, Fatima Bintay Asad from Army Public School, Rawalpindi and Mahnoor Ali from Joint Staff Public School and College, Rawalpindi stood second with 1,095 marks while Abia Rafique from Army Public School and College, Rawalpindi secured the third position with 1,094 marks.

In the humanities group, Oneeba Shahid from DHA School for Girls, Lahore, got the first position by getting 1,061 marks, Eman Ali from Fauji Foundation College for Girls, Rawalpindi, got the second position by getting 1,058 marks and Maira Bukhari from Islamabad College for Girls, G-10/2, obtained the third position by securing 1,042 marks.

According to the SSC-II results, a total of 110,671 students appeared in the exams and of them, 95,819 could pass exams, with an overall pass percentage of 86.58 per cent.
