LAHORE:

On the call of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the party’s Central Punjab leadership staged protest demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) here in front of the Provincial Election Commission Office on Thursday.

PTI Central Punjab President Dr Yasmin Rashid led the workers rally and chanted slogans against the CEC and demanded his immediate removal from his office for showing biased conduct against the PTI. Dr Rashid stressed that free and fair elections are impossible under the current CEC.

She highlighted that her party has submitted a resolution the Provincial Election Commission demanding immediate removal of the CEC. The PTI rejects the CEC for his biased decisions and conduct. Speaking about the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision against the PTI in foreign funding case, she said the ECP decision is based on bad intentions.

The leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had been doing propaganda on foreign funding case for past eight years but could not find anything in it.

The PDM’s stance has been proved false as all accounts of her party had been declared before the ECP.

She said the PTI has always sought donations from overseas Pakistanis through legal channel.
