Was talking to my sister who told me that she wanted a water cooler which I promised and then she told me to go to our mother and talk to her. She grabbed a kettle and said that she wanted a cup of tea with her father and nephews so I left the room,” the elder brother of the unfortunate girl told The Express Tribune.

“No sooner did I leave the room that the roof collapsed. There was a loud sound. All of them were trapped under the debris,” he said, adding that they were taken out but the bride was dead along with my two children,” he said.

This happened in the morning as the nikah was scheduled for 5pm.

The groom with his family members and friends arrived in the evening and attended the funeral prayers held for the bride and the two children who were laid to rest side by side.

Three others including the girl’s father, Zahir, were injured and shifted to a hospital.
