Six terrorists killed in Kech operation

During an exchange of fire, Havaldar Hidayat Ullah also embraced martyrdom, says ISPR

Security forces on Friday killed six terrorists during a search operation in general area Hoshab in district Kech of Balochistan, the military said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on information regarding the movement of a terrorist group on motorcycles towards Panjgur from Kech.

The ISPR said that the security forces immediately cordoned the area and started a search operation to apprehend the terrorists. "Once surrounded, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on security forces," it added.

The military's media wing said that a heavy exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces. "Resultantly, six terrorists have been killed and a large cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered."

During engagement, the ISPR said, resident of Lakki Marwat Havaldar Hidayat Ullah embraced martyrdom while a resident of Waziristan Naik Mir Muhammad got injured.

Earlier, a soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire between troops and terrorists in Draban area of Dera Ismail Khan district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the ISPR, on Saturday (July 23) troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location.

However, during an intense exchange of fire 31-year-old Lance Naik Mujeebur Rehman, resident of Lakki Marwat, embraced Shahadat [martyrdom] after having fought gallantly.

“Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area,” the military’s media wing said.
