NIH says national positivity ratio also rose to 3.65%

The single-day death toll from Covid-19 rose to eight on Thursday, along with 761 fresh cases of the disease during the last 24 hours, official data of the pandemic released by the National Institute of Health (NIH) showed.

The NIH said that the national positivity ratio also rose to 3.65%. It said that 170 patients were in critical condition at various Covid-dedicated health facilities across the country. With eight deaths during the last 24 hours, the overall death toll from the pandemic rose to 30,482, the NIH said.

During the last 24 hours, the highest positivity rate was recorded in Gilgit at 19.64%, the NIH said. It was followed by 13.73% in Muzaffarabad, 12.5% in Swabi, 12.47% in Peshawar, 11.16% in Lahore, 3.7% in Islamabad, 3.2% in Karachi, 2.43% in Mardan and 2% in Multan.
