Youth killed over traffic fight
A young man was shot dead while he was trying along with other youths to break up a traffic jam outside a marriage hall in the Bantwa Nagar area of Liaquatabad. Police registered the case on Thursday against the suspected killer, Zeeshan, son of Ramzan, on the complaint of the victim's uncle, Syed Younis.
Muhammad Hamad, 22, son of Muhammad Ibrahim, was trying to restore traffic along with other young men outside Maryam Marriage Hall on Wednesday night. Suddenly, a scuffle broke out and a man riding in a black Revo SUV bearing registration no KZ8707 opened straight fire at the young men.
As a result, Hamad sustained two bullets to his chest and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in a private car.
According to relatives, Hamad was an intermediate student and resident of Bandhani Colony. He also worked part time to finance his studies as father is a rickshaw driver. He was fourth among seven siblings.
At the time of incident, Hamad was there to attend the wedding ceremonies of his elder brother Waqas and his sister at another marriage hall, Bandhani Community Center.
The nominated accused is a resident of Lines Area and had come to attend a marriage at another marriage hall.
Police registered a case against Zeeshan, a resident of Lines Area, on the complaint of the victim's uncle, Syed Younis, under Section 302 PPC. Liaquat Hayat, SHO Liaquatabad, said that police raided the accused's house but he was not present there.
