The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Tuesday offered to mediate between the government and the opposition to end the political crisis in the country, and urged the “neutrals” to let the political parties take their own decisions.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, JI Ameer Sirajul Haq said that his party was ready to host the talks between the government and the opposition, stressing that at present, the country faces grave crises like the economic deterioration and severe load-shedding.

Siraj said that the PDM, PPP, and the PTI had always looked to Rawalpindi, adding that sometimes the PDM and sometimes the PTI hurled allegations against the military to make it controversial. “Now the courts have been made controversial and there is talk against the judiciary on social media,” he said.

Siraj said that the 2018 general election was controversial and since then the situation had deteriorated in the country because no public interest legislation had been enacted since then. “However, both sides were unanimous on the legislation passed on the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) demand.”
