HARIPUR:

The recent rainfall caused a lot of destruction to infrastructure as many water supply schemes in Gandhinagar villages were damaged.

Elected Representative of Papalala Hamlet, Zahid Iqbal Awan, spent the entire day in his effort to repair the water system in his area. His neighbourhood is experiencing a major water crisis, and people are working hard to restore the water supply on their own.

Talking to the media, Awan said, "The water supply system and our valuable land has been completely destroyed. Our Tehsil Nazim has also paid a visit to this location today; however, we regret that he was preoccupied with picture sessions with irrelevant people rather than assisting. The area has to be declared a disaster site right now to start the immediate rehabilitation process and provide public relief. Tehsil Nazim Syed Qasim Shah left after giving two days to complete the relief efforts.

Zahid Iqbal said, "In order to support the locals, all elected representatives should set aside their political differences and do everything within their power to improve the situation. We request that Gandghinagar should be classified as a disaster site by Haripur deputy commissioner."

Previously, the walls of the Bagh Dara primary school collapsed due to rainfall. The public had requested the Tehsil Nazim and the local authorities to build the wall and restore roads along with it.
