LAHORE: High prices of pesticides, agriculture inputs, oil and high tariff of electricity have affected poor farmers who are in a fix to continue to grow crops under these circumstances.

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) president Sardar Zafar Hussain while talking to a delegation of farmers on Sunday said that the government should seriously take note of the situation and adopt suitable measures to facilitate farmers by resolving their problems.

He said farmers of flood-hit areas needed the government’s help as their belongings and standing crops had been washed away. He assured flood-hit farmers that the KBP leaders would visit flood-hit areas to monitor and review problems of growers across the country.

He said the KBP had directed local organisations to extend full cooperation and help to the affected in their irrespective areas.
