Court tells new investigation officer to submit final report

KARACHI:

The court of East Judicial Magistrate has sought the final report of the case from the new investigation officer in the alleged kidnapping case of Dua Zehra.

During the hearing of the case in Karachi City Court before the court of East Judicial Magistrate, the IO submitted the report to the court. The IO sought more time.

He said that the Sindh police team is present in Punjab to recover the abductee Dua and arrest her alleged kidnapper Zaheer. Time should be given to present the challan and the accused, the IO stated before the bench.

The prosecutor submitted that the Additional District and Sessions Court had ordered the removal of the IO. Shaukat Shahani is no longer the IO of the case.

After the break, the hearing started and the lawyers of the complainant and accused Zaheer appeared in the court. IO Shaukat Shahani also appeared in the court.

The court summoned the final challan of the case from the new investigating officer on the next hearing. The court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 1.

Dua Zehra, Karachi teenager who allegedly married of her free will, arrived at Darul Aman on Tuesday after orders by a district and sessions court of Lahore.
