Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar on Wednesday announced that a committee is being formed in Punjab to deal with the events of May 25, when law enforcement personnel raided the homes of several PTI leaders and clashed with the workers and supporters of the party during its ‘Azadi March’.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Asad stated that no one should assume that the events of May 25 were forgotten and that the PTI would not let anyone forget.

“A committee is being formed which will remove all false papers through legal procedures,” the former minister said.
He added that the law enforcement officers who tortured people on illegal orders and took illegal action would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The Anti-Victimisation and Accountability Committee is being established in Punjab with PTI’s Shafqat Mehmood as the convenor.

On May 25, clashes had continued throughout the day between the protesters and law-enforcement agencies at different locations in the twin cities, including Faizabad Interchange, where the roads had been blocked with containers.
Earlier on the day of the Azadi March, police personnel had also raided the houses of several PTI leaders in Punjab and Karachi and arrested some of them.
