LG polls activities gain momentum in Hyderabad

Provincial, local leaders of various political parties have geared up campaigns to win voters' sympathies

The election campaign for local government elections gained momentum across the district on Monday, and the candidates of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Qomi Awami Tahreek (QAT) and other parties were going door-to-door.

The provincial and local leaders of various political parties and independent candidates have geared up campaigns to win the voters' sympathies.

PPP leader and former senator Aajiz Dhamrah, MQM MPA Nasir Qureshi, QAT leader Altaf Khaskheli, PTI leader Imran Qureshi and others were busy in the electioneering process and convinced their voters. The MQM Pakistan candidates also inaugurated the election office in Union Committee 132 Hussainabad.

QRF deployed

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amjad Ahmed Shaikh directed all SDPOs and SHOs to ensure the implementation of the security plan for the second phase of the Local Body elections to be held on July 24 in the district. He issued these directives while presiding over the meeting to review the security arrangements for the polls. The SSP told the meeting that a Quick Response Force (QRF) consisting of 25 teams had already been formed for the local government elections.
