MULTAN: A mobile shop owner allegedly tortured a customer on Sunday. According a police official, the shop owner thought the man had stolen a cell phone from his shop.

The incident took place in the Delhi gate area, where shop owner Umair had a quarrel with Qasoor Iqbal and hit him with a lead pipe. Umair told police officials that Iqbal had been caught stealing a cell phone from his shop and had tried to set fire to his store.

“I beat him only after I caught him stealing,” Umair told police officials. Police officials have sent Qasoor Iqbal to the hospital and have registered a case against both men.
