RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi district administration has issued an alert after the change in weather conditions has been declared good for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes.

During the anti-dengue campaign, teams filed 30 FIRs against people for violations of anti-dengue SOPs besides sealing eight shops.

According to the spokesperson of the district administration, the recent rains have been declared suitable for the breeding of dengue mosquitoes. Not only can the dengue mosquito breed rapidly in the current climate, but it can also be extremely dangerous to human health, he said.

He said that the anti-dengue teams carried out intensive operations across the district and two restaurants were sealed in the Rawalpindi food street after dengue larvae were recovered from food stalls.

Anti-dengue teams sealed eight shops while cases were registered at different police stations against 30 people.

The district administration issued an instruction asking the citizens to take immediate steps to drain rainwater from roofs of houses and other places.
