MIANWALI:

Due to monsoon rains, gutters in Isa Khel Tehsil overflowed and flooded the town. According to details, the rain gutters in Chachali, Adwala and Baruch were saturated with water and overflowed.

Floodwater from Baroch inundated the areas of Turg, Mehrshahwali, Janatiwala while the biggest flood barrier in the area, Adwala, near the city of Kamarmashani, broke open and floodwater rushed into Mohalla Tani Khel and Barzi.

As a result, people's homes were severely damaged and thousands of acres of standing crops were washed away.

The sand dam built in former prime minister Imran Khan's constituency, on the side of Barzi and Nanzai Wanda, already broke in the first wave due to poor construction, likely a product of corruption.

Instead of laying stones, the dam’s builders used sand to build the dam, weakening it from its very inception.

Former provincial minister Amanatullah Khan Shadi Khel, Mianwali Deputy Commissioner Omar Javed and Assistant commissioner Issa Khel Chaudhry Jaffer broke the main Mianwali Bannu Road, saving the city of Kamarmashani and Tani Khel Mohalla from destruction.

The administration also set up a flood relief camp at Higher Secondary School Kamarmashani, where accommodation and food were provided victims.
