PML-N’s federal, provincial ministers resign

LAHORE:

In a major political development, the senior Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, including MNA Ayaz Sadiq and MPA Khawaja Salman Rafique, have tendered their resignations from their ministries.

MNA Sadiq resigned as the federal minister for economic affairs. He has sent his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

MPA Salman stepped down from the provincial ministry due to “personal reasons”, party sources said. He sent his resignation to Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz which was approved.

PML-N Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarar said in a statement that Sadiq and Salman submitted their resignations due to upcoming by-polls on the vacant seats of the Punjab Assembly.
