PESHAWAR:

Thanks to the Drug Free Peshawar campaign, a drug addict who left his home eight years ago in Azad Kashmir has been reunited with his family and he will be celebrating this Eid with his loved ones.

Sarfaraz, a resident of Kashmir went missing eight years ago and he had been declared dead by family after years of failed searching.

He was fortunate that on May 25 district administration of Peshawar launched an anti-drugs campaign under which drug addicts were rounded up and sent to rehabilitation centres. Sarfaraz was also among those drug addicts arrested from various parts of the city and shifted to a rehab center.

“Sarfaraz has completely recovered in the rehab centre after two months of treatment and physical exercise. In the past few days his family members spotted him in a video clip aired by tv channels and they immediately identified him,” said a district official while talking to The Express Tribune.
