LAHORE:

Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has approached the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for record required to expand the scope of investigations in a corruption case against Farhat Shahzadi, an alleged aide to the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan. The ACE had launched the investigations after it received complaints of corruption in a housing colony in Gujranwala.

The suspects had allegedly sold more plots than the available land.

The victims had complained to the ACE.

Former prime minister Imran Khan had said during a public talk that the woman dealt in real estate and she had been implicated in the investigation for political motives.

A letter written by the Gujranwala ACE deputy director to the SECP Company Registration Office additional registrar read, “Complete record in respect of Ghosia Builders pvt ltd may be provided to this office at the earliest to proceed further into the matter.”

“This may be accorded top priority,” it concluded.

A couple of days back, a brother of Farhat Shahzadi was included in an investigation by the ACE Sahiwal region in a case of misappropriation of government land in Depalpur.

Earlier, an ACE team had arrested a former acting chief executive officer (CEO) of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) committee secretary and booked Farhat alias Farah Shah, her family members and others for illegal allotment of two industrial plots to a company owned by her.
