Sharjeel says PTI boycotted poll after sensing defeat

Minister claims he predicted that Imran’s party would cry foul

Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that PTI has boycotted elections for a vacant Senate seat after the party was "clearly defeated" in the local government elections.

Memon added PTI members would start playing of blame game by the evening. He said that the voting process is underway and nobody has been denied the right of vote. "The doors of the Sindh Assembly are open for opposition and other members."

This he said while talking to the media at the Sindh Assembly's Media Corner on Wednesday. The minister said that the graph of popularity of PTI was falling rapidly all over the country and the aim of the party was only gain power through any means.

He added the next general elections would be held on time after the completion of the tenure of the current assemblies. He claimed that more corruption scandals of Imran Khan are expected to be revealed and recordings of his family will also be leaked.

"These recording will reveal that which powerful lady had the authority to appoint the chief minister of a province. It will also disclose which household lady had passed instructions to political activists." He said that Imran Khan was waging a vicious campaign against state institutions of the country. He added the PTU chief's narrative failed and he still had a chance to correct his political path.

He said that neither could the country run on the wishes of Imran Khan nor can legislation can be passed on his (Imran) demand. He added that PTI had not even enjoyed the majority in the national assembly and they ran their government through ordinances, which was an illegal way. "Most of the ordinances lapsed among them.”
