Citizen guns down suspected robber

Alleged accomplices managed to escape scene

KARACHI:

Owner of an under-construction building in Surjani Town shot dead an alleged robber while three of the suspects accomplices, including one injured, managed to escape.

In this regard, acting SHO of Surjani Town Police Station Raja Rafique said that four dacoits riding two motorcycles entered an under-construction house at Plot No. R55 in Surjani Town's Sector 5C. The landlord, his father and some labourers were present in the house. The robbers took the landlord Muhammad Imran hostage at gunpoint.

However, when they tried to take the landlord's father, Muhammad Sabir, hostage, the landlord resisted and fired at the robbers with his licensed 9mm pistol. As a result, one dacoit was killed on the spot while another was injured.

Two other accomplices picked up the wounded dacoit and managed to escape. He said a pistol, wallet and three mobile phones were recovered from the slain robber.
